There is a never ending argument between perfumers over the difference - or lack thereof- between Oriental and Amber perfumes. We'll say that an Amber is default Oriental, owing to its notes of vanilla and robe of woody, spiced and balmy scents of benjoin and tolu balsam. With the arrival of Agarwood, new sub-families have emerged to enrich the palette, somrtimes overlapping with characteristics of the leather and "animal" style.
